Does anyone know the portsmouth yardstick value for the Nic 31? We are thinking of entering a local regatta and it is all done on PY values. If it is any help, we have a 3 bladed prop and only a cruising chute, not a spinnaker! Just trying to get a better PY value!

As a supplement to this query in case anyone is interested, we entered two 'regattas' locally organised by the same club but with different committees. The first committee gave us a PY value of 1030. This, I think made us faster than an Albin Ballad and similar to a Sigma. We entered two races and came last in both on handicap! Couldn't have been the quality of the helm could it?? The second regatta, we were given a different handicap - 1051. This seemed much better and we came 5th out of 9, though this was probably fair. Given a forecast of F5-7, I changed the nice new roller genoa for a No.2 we had in the cupboard and that worked well until on the final beat the wind dropped to a F2. It didn't work so well then and changing jibs mid-beat didn't see a good strategy!
