It is possible to post an image on the Nicholson 31 Forum, but firstly you will need to upload it to the internet. Most ISPs give you an amount of web space storage online (e.g. 10mb) as part of your monthly charge. You should be able to use this or, if not, there are some free providers online.
Step 1: You need to save your photo as a .jpeg file and reduce its dimensions to, say, 640 x 480 pixels. Your image viewing software should allow you to do this.
Step 2: Now, upload your picture to your personal web space. Your ISP should have some instructions on how to do this.
Step 3: Once you have uploaded your image(s), you should have a URL for that image. It should be in the form www.myhost/my_areas_name/...31pic.jpeg (http://www.myhost/my_areas_name/nicholson31pic.jpeg)
Step 4: Type the text of your forum message. To include your image, click on the Image button situated to the left-hand side where you are typing your message. Type (or cut & paste) the URL of your image in the box that pops up.
Tip: if your cannot see the Image button, click on ‘ezCodes’ and it should appear.
Step 5: Once you are happy with your message text etc, click in the Preview box and then click Add Post. You will be shown a preview of your post, which should include your image. If all is working OK, click Add Post.
Phew. A bit long-winded I’ll grant you, but quite fun! Baring this, e-mail your pic to me and I will post it in the relevant message thread.
