Has anyone got a carbon spinnaker pole? I believe one boat at the recent UK meet had one but I didn't set eyes on it.
Also, can you get carbon gear in white?

Andy,
I'm sure that you can obtain a carbon fiber spinnaker pole; see website : www.hallspars.com for reference.
The carbon fiber poles can be painted with Awlgrip or other high performance paints, Hall evens shows prices for the painting. When will you receive your new sails? Are you buying a spinnaker also?

Harrison,
Yes, I am sure I saw a white carbon pole on a Swan 44 mkII near us in the marina. White doesn't look as ugly against the deck, I think.
We have ordered our posh new sails but will put off collection until Spring '05. Then we might have a main & headsail for sale!

I just got this quote:
Based on SPL 3.700m - Carbon Spinnaker Pole would be in 76mm diam, complete with Selden Piston Ends both ends
Cost being £586-00p
or as above but with Twin Spectra Core Bridles fitted
Cost being £621-70p
All ex Works & ex VAT
Dependant on mast, the optimum ring slider size to suit Selden ends is .30mm internal diam, .50mm external diam & 10mm bar
Anyone else interested?

Yes interested Andy. Also am interested in pole storage on the forward face of the mast to keep the decks clear. Does any one know of a source for the old mast track in a suitable length to add to the face of my 1982 Proctor Spar? It's a broad (maybe 2-1/2 inch) based track, riveted on, on each side of the main track (not down the centerline like currently available mast track) and much stronger under lateral loading. Have been looking high and low for years now for a suitable length but have never found it. Keep hoping that as time goes on and masts get replaced (occasionally) that something will show up on the junk pile--so far no luck. Cheers. Bill

Bill,
You might try :www.rigrite.com/ (http://www.rigrite.com/)
They have inventories of some of the hardware brands originally used.

Harrison, Thanks for the heads up. Checked their website andthere was no e-mail address, but I did make a phone call and they apparently have had a fire-severe enough to require a telephone answering service. Left a phone number but it sounded like they deal primarily in new gear and in volume. Will keep you posted when I learn more.
Spell Check still not working.
Emoticons apparently not either.

Bill,
I had to call 2-3 times last year to get a real person. I then gave them the parts #'s from their website that I needed and they faxed back prices. Small qty. didn't seem to be a problem. I didn't purchase the items but may call them back now that I've thought about it again.
