Hi everyone,
We sailed Circe back to North Carolina in late June '09 after 7 great years of cruising the eastern Caribbean. Unlike many cruisers who return to life on land and sell their boats, we will keep our Nic 31 on the coast of NC for weekend sailing and coastal cruising. After thousands of sailing miles and many months of living aboard down island, we winterized the boat for the 1st time since 2001. I stopped by Circe last week to check on her after the frigid cold spell along our coast. All was well with the boat, but I had to re-learn the experience of seeing my breath in the cold air inside the cabin. Needless to say, I checked all the systems and beat a quick retreat to a warmer place. We would often joke that we were freezing on the few nights the temp might have dropped to 72 F anchored in the tropics. Now we can't wait to see 72 as a high in the springtime.
I'm not sure what we will do with all of our extra ocean cruising gear, but I may have a few items for sale in the coming months. We have a 4 person Winslow Super-Light Standard Offshore Liferaft purchased new in 2007 that is packed in an Ultra Pack vacuum sealed bag inside of the valise. The raft is not scheduled for its 1st service until October 2010. Winslow packed it into custom dimensions that fit very nicely in the Nic 31 liferaft compartment in the aft of the cockpit. If anyone is interested , please let me know . I haven't determined a selling price yet as I haven't decided if I will sell it (former cruiser remorse).

All the best,
